Commenting on the survey, Turkey Report Director Can Selçuki said, “We periodically ask voters which party they will not vote for. When the question is phrased  this way, we are also checking the accuracy of the 40-60 division of the naiton vote between the governing coalition and the opposition, which has been steady  for about a year in Turkey”.

Stating that the rate of those who say “I will never vote for the AK Party” was 29.3 percent in February 2021, Selçuki added, “We observe that those who say that they will never vote for  MHP have dropped again after experiencing an increase over 2022, but the rise continues in the antagonism to AKP.”

Selçuki said, “What the opposition needs to do in order to win the election is to try to better its 60 percent potential under the leadership of the Table of Six, the six-party main oppositon alliance led by center-elft CHP and cnetre-right IYIP. The trick is  not to agitate voters who might be angry with the government because of the economy.  These may  prefer not to vote, instead of voting for the opposition, unless their sensitvieis are addressed delicately.

On the other hand,  the job of the government is more difficult. Because the main goal of the opposition is to preserve what is at hand, while the goal of the government is to bring back those who have left,” he said.
