Türkiye wants to improve relations with China in every field, China also keen on issue, Ismail Hakki Musa says
Türkiye and China need to develop “deeper relations,” according to Türkiye’s Ambassador to Beijing Ismail Hakki Musa.
Musa received Ibrahim Ma, Huawei’s Türkiye board director and Turkish students invited by the company to China as part of the “Seeds for the Future” project at the embassy.
The project aims to encourage innovative projects in the field of technology by young people from different European countries.
Underlining the importance of such projects involving young people in terms of increasing interaction between peoples of the two countries, Musa said: “Economy, trade, scientific activities, culture … There are many opportunities that China can provide for co-operation and Türkiye has the potential.”
Pointing out that Türkiye wants to improve relations with China in every field and that China is also keen on the issue, Musa said: “We need to develop healthier, wider and deeper relations.”
The students talked about their work in activities within the scope of the project and their observations on innovative technological solutions in areas such as urbanization, infrastructure and environment in China.
– Projects with long-term returns
Musa suggested to Ma that the Chinese technology company should provide training and work opportunities for talented young people in Türkiye.
Emphasizing the importance of developing projects that can have long-term returns in education, Musa said: “In this way, we can touch real people, the youth.”
Underlining that Turkish authorities are ready to support initiatives in all matters, Musa added: “Such projects will open new doors for you as a company in Türkiye.”
Ma said his company has been conducting the “Seeds for the Future” in Türkiye for eight years and that there were more than 8,000 applications for this year’s project.
They selected 30 students and invited two, who made it to the finals with their projects to the event in China along with other students from European countries, added Ma.
Noting that Huawei has launched a new project called the “IT Talents Development Project,” Ma said the company plans to develop scholarship opportunities and training programs for students in cooperation with the Turkish Industry and Technology Ministry, universities and other institutions in Türkiye.
