A March 5-7 election survey by ORC Research saw the Republican People’s Party (CHP) emerge as the leading party, while support for the Justice and Development Party (AKP) remained stable at 28.9%, slightly down from 29.1% in February. The Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) overtook the DEM Party for third place.
General Election Survey Results
The poll, conducted among 3,390 participants across 26 provinces, asked voters, “Which party would you vote for if a general election were held this Sunday?” The results were as follows:
- CHP: 29.3% (Leading party)
- AKP: 28.9%
- MHP: 8.3% (Climbed to third place)
- DEM Party: 7.8% (Previously third, now fourth)
- Victory Party (Zafer Partisi): 5.0%
- New Welfare Party (YRP): 4.9%
- İYİ Party: 4.5%
- Future Party (Gelecek Partisi): 2.2%
- BBP: 1.9%
- YMP: 1.6%
- TİP: 1.5%
- Anahtar Party: 1.3%
- DEVA Party: 1.2%
Leader Approval Ratings
The survey also assessed public approval of political leaders, revealing a 3-point gap between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and CHP Chairman Özgür Özel:
- Recep Tayyip Erdoğan (AKP): 38.5%
- Özgür Özel (CHP): 35.7%
- Devlet Bahçeli (MHP): 24.5%
- Fatih Erbakan (YRP): 17.5%
- Ahmet Davutoğlu (Future Party): 17.0%
- Ümit Özdağ (Victory Party): 11.9%
- Musavat Dervişoğlu (İYİ Party): 10.6%
- Tuncer Bakırhan (DEM Party): 10.2%
