Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reaffirmed Turkey’s role as a key strategic partner in both security and reconstruction efforts, emphasizing Ukraine’s readiness to ratify the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Turkey.
Following a meeting with Turkish government and business representatives, Zelenskyy stated that the discussions built upon agreements reached during his recent visit to Ankara, where he met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Strengthening Economic and Defense Ties
Key topics of the meeting included economic cooperation and military-technical collaboration, particularly regarding drone production and the supply of Bayraktar UAVs.
“Our state considers Turkey one of our strategic partners and an essential security ally,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
Free Trade Agreement Expected During Erdoğan’s Visit
Zelenskyy also confirmed that Ukraine is prepared to move forward with the ratification of the FTA during President Erdoğan’s upcoming visit.
The agreement is expected to enhance bilateral trade and investment, reinforcing the long-standing economic and defense partnership between the two nations.
