Türkiye and Egypt have agreed to enhance cooperation in the natural gas sector, Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar announced on Wednesday.
During his visit to the U.S. for CERAWeek 2025, a major global energy conference, Bayraktar met with Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi to discuss regional energy security and collaboration.
“We discussed strengthening cooperation between our two countries in the fields of natural gas and mining,” Bayraktar stated on X (formerly Twitter), adding that both sides committed to concretizing their partnership in the natural gas sector.
Expanding Global Energy Partnerships
In addition to Egypt, Bayraktar held discussions with:
- Tengku Muhammad Taufik, CEO of Malaysia’s Petronas
- Jeff Miller, CEO of Halliburton
- Anatol Feygin, Vice President and COO of Cheniere Energy
The meetings focused on expanding cooperation in the energy sector, signaling Türkiye’s intent to strengthen global energy partnerships and enhance energy security in the region.
