Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu and Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş are more than 10 points ahead of President Tayyip Erdogan in a possible presidential election, according to a Metropoll Research poll.
Metropoll published the results of Turkey’s Pulse Survey in April, which it conducts regularly every month. In the survey of 1752 people from 28 provinces, they were asked, “Which candidate would you vote for if the candidates in the presidential election were as follows?”
In the scenario in which Erdogan and Imamoglu were candidates, 39 percent of respondents said they would vote for Erdogan and 50 percent said they would vote for Imamoglu.
In the scenario in which Mansur Yavaş opposed Erdogan, 49 percent of respondents voted for Yavas.
In the poll, 43 percent of respondents said they would vote for Good Party Leader Meral Aksener and 40 percent for CHP Leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu if they were Erdogan’s opponents.
