Cause of Death of Missing Woman Ece Gürel Revealed as Hypothermia

Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu confirmed that the cause of death for 36-year-old Ece Gürel, whose body was found in Belgrade Forest four days after her disappearance, was hypothermia.
Gürel, who left her home in Kağıthane Gültepe on March 2, telling her family she was heading to Belgrade Forest, was reported missing shortly after. A search operation ensued, and her mobile phone and personal belongings were discovered in the forest.
At 1:15 AM on March 6, search and rescue teams located Gürel. She was immediately transported to Maslak Acıbadem Hospital but was critically affected by hypothermia after spending a prolonged period in the cold. During her treatment, her heart briefly stopped.
In a statement provided to TRT News, Minister Memişoğlu expressed his sorrow:
“We lost architect Mrs. Ece at 3 AM. She had extreme hypothermia. Despite all our efforts, unfortunately, she could not survive. I wish her family patience.”
