Cost of Living in Istanbul Reaches 82,880 Liras in January

The Istanbul Planning Agency (IPA), affiliated with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), has reported that the monthly cost of living in Istanbul surged to 82,880 liras in January 2024.

Sharp Annual and Monthly Increases

According to the IPA’s research:

• The cost of living in Istanbul rose by 56.21% year-on-year compared to January 2023.
• Compared to December 2023, the cost of living increased by 7.10%.
• The average cost of living for a family of four now stands at 82,880 liras.
