Azerbaijan and Turkey have taken another major step in their strategic energy partnership with the launch of the Iğdır-Nakhchivan gas pipeline, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov announced on his X page, Trend reports.

“With the participation of the heads of state, another historically significant project symbolizing the eternal friendship, brotherhood, and unbreakable unity between Azerbaijan and Turkey—the Iğdır-Nakhchivan gas pipeline—was launched today,” Shahbazov stated.

The new pipeline, which will transport up to 730 million cubic meters of gas annually from Iğdır to Nakhchivan, is expected to bolster Nakhchivan's energy security while reinforcing the broader energy cooperation between the two nations.
