ITO Istanbul Consumer Price Index Rises in March 2025

In March 2025, the ITO Istanbul Consumer Price Index—an indicator of retail price trends in Istanbul—increased on a monthly basis. According to data comparing March 2024 to March 2025, the year-on-year change in the ITO Istanbul Consumer Price Index stood at 46.23%, based on the ITO 2023 = 100 reference.

In its statement, the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) also noted:

“The Wholesale Price Index, which reflects wholesale price movements and showed a 2.33% increase in February 2025, rose by 2.30% in March 2025.”

Year-on-Year and Annual Averages

  • Wholesale prices in March 2025 were 33.17% higher compared to the same month of the previous year.

  • The annual average rate of change for wholesale prices was 46.12%.

  • Textiles: 71.96%

  • Chemicals: 47.09%

  • Unprocessed Materials: 34.44%

  • Mines: 30.02%

These latest figures indicate that retail and wholesale prices in Istanbul continued to climb, with construction materials seeing the biggest jump when viewed across an annual average.
