Mahir Polat Undergoes Medical Evaluation at City Hospital

Mahir Polat, Deputy Secretary General of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), is currently undergoing medical evaluations at Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital, according to his attorney Erkam Erdem.

“We had initially received information that Mahir Polat would be transferred to the Council of Forensic Medicine, but we have now learned that he is at Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital, where a range of examinations and tests are being conducted,”
Erdem stated.

Backstory: Forensic Medicine Requested Additional Tests

The development follows a request from the Council of Forensic Medicine to the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, asking that Polat be transferred to a hospital for medical tests and analyses that were found missing in the case file.

The results of these pending medical evaluations are expected to help determine the council’s official position in the investigation process.

Polat’s hospital referral was made specifically to complete these outstanding diagnostic procedures, which are essential for finalizing the forensic medical opinion.
