Rent Prices in the Luxury Districts of Istanbul Hits Record High

Rent prices in the luxury districts of Istanbul, where salaries in Turkey cannot keep up with the rents, reached a record high.
In 2025, when the minimum wage was determined as 22 thousand Turkish liras, rents for 100 square metres of apartments in Istanbul's neighborhoods with high real estate value and villas rose to over 60 thousand Turkish Liras.
In Istanbul, where the average rent increased to 26 thousand 500 Turkish Liras for apartments based on 100 square metres, prices increased by 45 percent in the new year. With the new prices, prices in some neighborhoods even exceeded the lowest doctor's salary of 72 thousand Turkish Liras.
According to the news compiled by Gazete Duvar from Endeksa data, the list of the 15 most expensive neighborhoods in Istanbul based on 100 square meters of housing rents is as follows:
