Türkiye Leads Europe in Agricultural Output, Ranks 8th Globally

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan highlighted Türkiye’s agricultural success on Wednesday, stating that the country ranks first in Europe and 8th worldwide in agricultural output. Speaking at an iftar event with farmers, Erdoğan underscored the significant growth in the sector over the past two decades.
Agricultural Growth: From $3.8B to $32.6B in Exports
Since 2002, Türkiye’s agricultural exports have surged from $3.8 billion to $32.6 billion in 2023, according to Erdoğan. Meanwhile, the country’s total agricultural output has tripled, rising from $25 billion in 2002 to $74 billion in 2024.
"Türkiye produces 206 types of agricultural products, and in many of these, we are fortunate to be self-sufficient," Erdoğan stated.
Türkiye’s Global and European Agricultural Rankings
Türkiye ranks 4th globally in fruit and vegetable production and 11th in plant-based production. The country is also among the top three producers worldwide for 21 different agricultural products.
