  • Turkey’s regular elections are scheduled for May 2028, but the main opposition party is pressuring President Erdogan to hold them in November 2025.

• Erdogan can’t easily ignore the demand by the main opposition party, because he needs its cooperation to gain another term.

• If Turkey were to go to polls by November 2025, the current austerity program will be have to be ditched. What does that mean for the economy and markets?
