MetroPOLL poll: Imamoglu leads 3 likely AKP candidates

In the survey conducted by MetroPoll Research, the results of the race between IBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and 3 potential AKP candidates were shared. Accordingly, Imamoğlu is 15 points ahead of Murat Kurum, 10 points ahead of Ali Yerlikaya and 7 points ahead of Selçuk Bayraktar in the local elections.

 

MetroPoll Research focused on Istanbul elections in its December survey.

Computer-assisted telephone interviews were conducted with 1500 people in 39 districts of Istanbul on December 9-13.

The survey investigated which candidate would get how many votes if Ekrem İmamoğlu, the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), competed against Selçuk Bayraktar, the son-in-law of AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya or Murat Kurum, the former Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.

According to the survey conducted by Sözcü columnist İsmail Saymaz, in a race between İmamoğlu and Murat Kurum, İmamoğlu has a 15-point difference to his rival.

In the survey, the participants responded to the question “If the candidates for the mayorship of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in the upcoming local elections are as follows, which one would you vote for?” as follows:

Ekrem İmamoğlu: 48.3

Murat Kurum: 33.9

No Answer 17.8

10 POINTS DIFFERENCE TO YERLİKAYA

In the survey, the possible race between İmamoğlu and Ali Yerlikaya was also asked.

While the rate of those who said they would vote for Ekrem İmamoğlu was 46.5 points, Yerlikaya remained at 37.1 points. Those who said ‘No Answer’ were 16.4 points.

7 POINTS DIFFERENCE TO BAYRAKTAR

 

Lastly, respondents were asked about the possible race between Ekrem İmamoğlu and Erdoğan’s son-in-law Selçuk Bayraktar.

The rate of those who stated that they would vote for Ekrem İmamoğlu was 45.1 points. The rate of those who said ‘no answer’ was 16.8 points, while the rate of those who stated that they would vote for Selçuk Bayraktar remained at 38.1 points.
