Pollster close to AKP: Ekrem İmamoğlu is 4 points ahead in Istanbul

In the local elections, both the government and the opposition are locked on the Istanbul elections. In recent days, survey results for Istanbul have been announced one after another. The latest survey was conducted by Optimar Research, owned by Hilmi Daşdemir, who is known to be close to the AKP.

In the survey conducted with 2,205 people between January 16-19, it was asked, “Should Murat Kurum or Ekrem İmamoğlu be elected?

According to the survey, the rate of those who say Murat Kurum should be elected is 42.1 percent, while the rate of those who say Ekrem İmamoğlu is 46.3 percent.

SWING VOTERS ARE CRITICAL

While the rate of those who say ‘I am undecided’ is 5.7 percent, the rate of those who say ‘None’ remains at 5.9 percent.

VOTERS THINK THAT IMAMOGLU WILL WIN

In response to the question “Who will be elected?”, 41.7 percent of the respondents said Murat Kurum, while 50.5 percent said Ekrem İmamoğlu.

40 PERCENT SAID ‘İMAMOĞLU IS SUCCESSFUL’

In the survey, which Hürriyet writer Abdulkadir Selvi quoted in today’s article, it was also asked what kind of change was experienced in municipal services in the 5 years Ekrem İmamoğlu was in office.

While 33.7 percent of the respondents answered ‘It was a failed period’, the rate of those who said ‘Successful’ was 40.3 percent. Another 26 percent said ‘Nothing has changed’.

The survey asked to what extent the Istanbul elections will have an impact on the politics of the country. 33.3 percent of the respondents think that it will be very effective. 29 percent think that it will be effective. 26 percent think that it will be moderate, while 9.6 percent think that it will be ineffective. According to the survey, those who answered ‘very ineffective’ constituted 2.1 percent.
