Turkey is doomed to another year of double-digit inflation!  Why?


Turkey is rapidly becoming an anachronism in a world battling deflation.  The country closed the year with a CPI of 14.6%, according to official figures. A credible group of academicians estimated the true CPI at 36.72%.   This is really, really an outlier for a country that has a stable government and is not suffering from a terms-of-trade shock.  Why is Turkey’s inflation so high?  What needs to be done to bring it down?   Can it be done without causing a severe recession?  You will find the answers in this video.
