Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) will announce January inflation data on Monday, February 3. According to Foreks News’ survey of 19 economists, the median forecast for the annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) data for January was 41.16 percent, while the average forecast pointed to an increase of 41.19 percent. Economists’ monthly median forecast for January Consumer Price Index was 4.33 percent, while the average forecast was 4.34 percent increase.
While the highest and lowest monthly increase expectations in CPI were 4.65 percent and 3.90 percent, respectively, annual forecasts were in the range of 41.60 percent to 40.59 percent.
The average of the January inflation expectations of economists participating in AA Finans’s expectations survey was 4.29 percent. Economists’ inflation expectations for January were between 3.75 percent and 5 percent.
According to the average of economists’ inflation expectations for January (4.29 percent), annual inflation is expected to decrease to 41.11 percent from 44.38 percent in the previous month.
December CPI data was announced as 1.03 percent, while a monthly increase of 1.63 percent was expected, and annual inflation was realized at 44.38 percent. On the other hand, economists’ inflation expectation for the end of 2025 was 27.58 percent as of January.
