As PATurkey, we find it unethical to publish news that would even give rise to the slightest speculation about people’s health conditions. However, political leaders are in a different position. Knowing their health conditions falls within the citizen’s right to be informed. MHP leader Bahçeli is still resting at home and continues his work intensively on the phone, but party sources have not announced when he will be able to return to work.
Bahçeli’s historic role in the peace process with the Kurds and his role as the glue that holds the People’s Alliance together require him to return to active duty soon. For this reason, we are presenting the news by Kısa Dalga columnist and reliable journalist Sedat Bozkurt without any comment:
Kısa Dalga writer Sedat Bozkurt provided information about the health condition of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli.
Bozkurt said in his article today, “The health condition of Devlet Bahçeli continues to be the most confidential information of the state.”
Bozkurt, who stated that Bahçeli had a very serious heart surgery, added:
“He wanted to get up very early. And this created another health issue. Now he has a treatment process that requires him to lie down or not move at all. For this reason, we cannot see any of his photographs. Only Private Secretary Murat Çeliker goes in and out of his room. He has not even allowed to the deputy chairmen to visit him. He talks to them on the phone, just like he does with everyone else.
In related news, Bahceli will not attend tomorrow’s meeting between pro-Kurdish DEM Party delegates and MHP. However he issued a message from his home:
“I would have undoubtedly liked to be present at the second visit of the DEM Party delegation to the Nationalist Movement Party tomorrow and exchange views. However, I believe that my friends who were assigned to represent our party will not be outdone by me personally, and will convey our thoughts to their interlocutors with a clear and clean temperament. On this occasion, I greet my valuable comrades and the DEM Party delegation, and I congratulate our mobilization for a terror-free Turkey.
I believe that any kind of statement that will trigger misunderstandings and undermine the fragile progress should be carefully avoided. We still have a long way to go. There is no point in crossing the sea and struggling in the stream. Embracing each other with the spirit of Canakkale War is a patriotic obligation, a national duty for the collective preservation and defense of our national existence.
