Türkiye’s E-Exports Surge 27% in 2024, Aiming for $8 Billion in 2025

Türkiye’s e-export sector reached $6.4 billion in 2024, marking a 27% increase from the previous year, according to a statement by Türkiye’s Trade Ministry on Thursday. The share of e-exports in the country’s total goods exports rose to 2.6%, up from 2.12% in 2023.

Ambitious Growth Targets for 2025

To sustain this growth, Türkiye aims to expand e-export volume to $8 billion in 2025. The Trade Ministry has introduced support packages worth 320 million Turkish liras ($8.78 million) to help businesses increase their global trade presence in e-exports.

As part of this initiative, Türkiye has added the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Nigeria, and Saudi Arabia to its target markets due to their high e-export potential. Exporters focusing on these countries will receive an additional 20% financial support.

Expanding Global Reach

Türkiye is also facilitating market entry into China, the world’s largest e-commerce market, through marketplace commission support. Under its “Far Countries Strategy,” commission expenses for top marketplaces in the US and Canada—specifically in the personalized products and automotive spare parts sectors—are now eligible for government assistance.

IGEXX and the Future of E-Exports

To further strengthen Türkiye’s position in global e-commerce, the country will host the Istanbul Global E-Export Summit (IGEXX) in 2025, following a successful 2024 event that brought together over 30 global marketplaces in Istanbul.

Looking ahead, Türkiye has set an ambitious goal for e-exports to account for 10% of total goods exports by 2028, positioning itself as a key player in the global digital trade ecosystem.
