Can Mehmet Simsek rescue Turkish economy?

 

• Apology: Because of pneumonia, I’ve not been able to post new videos for a month.  We are back to business now with weekly new postings.
• President Erdogan is full of surprises.  Having  sworn exactly the opposite during the election campaign, he signaled he is going back to conventional economic policies by re-appointing former economy czar Mehmet Simsek to his old job.
• Simsek has run the Turkish economy fairly well in his tenure, while resisting the more insane ideas by Erdogan.
• He can rescue the Turkish economy, if Erdogan grants him enough time.
• Is that likely? How  much tolerance  does Erdogan, and in fact the whole nation have to suffer economic slowdown and higher unemployment while Simsek works his magic? Watch the video.
