President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on May 15 that his alliance will emerge victorious in the May 28 runoff election and achieve historic success.

“The May 14 elections, one of the elections with the highest participation in our history, took place in a festive atmosphere befitting our democracy, with the prudence and foresight of our beloved nation,” Erdoğan said.

“Despite political interference from Qandil, Pennsylvania, social media platforms, and foreign magazine covers, our nation has upheld its free will,” he added.

He conveyed that regardless of the result, the winner of the May 14 elections is the Turkish democracy and the Turkish Nation with its 85 million individuals.

He further added that by granting the People’s Alliance a majority in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, the Turkish population has confirmed their faith and confidence.

“I would like to thank all of my citizens who reflected their free will by going to the polls on May 14, and each of our 56 million people abroad for their valuable votes and contributions to democracy”, Erdoğan said.

He noted that Türkiye has shown that it is one of the countries with the most advanced democracies in the world with the maturity it showed on May 14.

According to the statements made by the Supreme Election Board (YSK), despite the 2.5 million vote difference between the People’s Alliance and Nation Alliance, the presidential election got to the second round by less than half a point.

“Until May 28, we will fulfill our responsibility to our beloved nation without stopping, resting and running with love,” he said.
