Yöneylem Survey: The “no block” is intact while IYI Parti meltdown continues

Yöneylem Research shared the results of the “November 2023 Turkey Political Panel” survey.

The research was conducted with 2,402 people in 26 provinces, and a confidence interval of 95% was specified. The margin of error was recorded as 2%.

TURKEY IS POORLY MANAGED

In the survey, participants were asked the question: “Do you think Turkey is managed well or poorly?”

54.9% of the participants answered “Poorly managed.” 18.3% responded with “Neither well nor poorly managed,” while the percentage of those saying “Well managed” remained at 26.1 points. Those who answered “I don’t know” were only 0.7%.

50+1 CONDITION SHOULD NOT CHANGE

In the survey, participants were also asked about the message from the AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding the need to change the 50+1 condition in the Presidential Election.

“Are you in favor of changing the 50+1 condition, or are you against it?” The majority of participants responded with “No, I am against changing the 50+1 condition.”

The responses of the participants were as follows:

No, I am against changing the 50+1 condition: 51.2

I don’t know: 11.7

FAILURE TO IMPLEMENT CONSTITUTIONAL COURT DECISIONS IS A ‘JUDICIAL COUP’

Another topic in the survey was the failure of the lower courts to implement the decision of the Constitutional Court regarding Turkey Workers Party Hatay Deputy Can Atalay.

“Do you consider the failure of lower courts to implement Constitutional Court decisions as a ‘judicial coup’?” To this question, 50.7 percent answered “Yes, the failure to implement Constitutional Court decisions is a ‘judicial coup’.”

Those who answered “No, I do not consider the failure to implement Constitutional Court decisions as a ‘judicial coup'” remained at 27.5 percent. The percentage of those who answered “I don’t know” was 21.7.

MAJORITY DISAPPROVES OF IYI PARTY’S POST-ELECTION POLICIES

Another topic in the survey was “IYI Party’s post-election policies.” IYI Party, which rejected the cooperation offer of the CHP in local elections and announced that it would participate in the elections with its own candidates in all 81 provinces, was largely disapproved of by the participants for its post-election policy.

“Do you think IYI Party’s discourse and policy adopted after the elections on May 14 and 28 are correct?” The answers of the participants are as follows:

No, I do not think that IYI Party pursued the correct policy: 78.1

Yes, I think IYI Party pursued the correct policy: 12.8

No Answer: 9.1

CHP INCREASES VOTES, AKP AND IYI PARTY SEE A DECLINE

The research also indicated the percentage of votes that each party would receive if there were parliamentary elections this Sunday.

When undecided voters were taken into account, a decrease in the vote percentage for both AKP and İYİ Party was observed.

AKP, which received 36.60% of the votes in the parliamentary elections on May 14, 2023, dropped to 32.8%.

IYI Party, which reached a 9.90% vote share on May 14, dropped to 5.5% after the alliance decision in the local elections.

According to the research, there was a partial increase in the votes for CHP, which underwent a change in leadership.

CHP, which received 25.80% of the votes by nominating Saadet, Gelecek, DEVA, and Democrat Party members from its own list on May 14, showed a slight increase, raising its vote percentage to 26.

The research also showed that HEDEP increased its vote by 0.5 points compared to the May 14 elections, reaching a vote percentage of 9.5.

MHP’s vote percentage was indicated as 10.6.
